February 2017 saw Visual Approach Images take to the road on a 2 week trip across California and Nevada.
The adventure started with three days in the Jedi Transition, high up in the central California mountains, and provided the ultimate test for some new Canon equipment right from day one.

Nellis AFB in Las Vegas was hosting a number of visiting units as part of the Red Flag 17-1 exercise.

Carrier air wing CVW-11 were stationed at NAS Fallon in northern Nevada for their unit work up before being deployed at sea abroad the USS Nimitz. A base visit provided close up access to observe and photograph flight operations.

Visual Approach Images was in Houston over the Superbowl 2017 weekend. This presented the chance to photograph some of the many corporate and private jets that were in town for this high profile event.

An invitation to Conroe in Texas provided a chance to capture two of the handful of Lockheed JetStars which remain operational in 2017. Two late JetStar 2 models are based here and although neither airplane flies many hours these days they are kept in immaculate airworthy condition.
